JULY: PAINTING MODERN SELF PORTRAITS
Ages 7+
Available spots
Service Description
Let's combine Classical portraiture with modern meme culture in this creative summer art history camp. This camp will be anything but boring! We're going to paint our portraits as in the style of Charles Wilson Peale; artist, patriot, inventor, and naturalist. Peale was the first to provide the first images of George Washington becoming known for painting accurate, straightforward likenesses of his subjects, posed within their own setting. Students will get to add a modern 'meme-style' face twist for a hilarious finish! This is a two day project. Class takes place July 7th & July 9th from 10am-12pm Drop off only. Water + Snack provided.
